The master program at the Graduate School of Geography, Seoul National University I deepened my research and academic skills. I focused in my courses mainly on transportation and urban geography. The classes were on urban social geography,
transport geography, regional study of Northeast Asia, cartography and global cities. I learned about new qualitative and quantitative research approaches.
In a 1-year program I learned translation skills for literature. The focus was on short stories and we translated within the program two Korean short stories into German and published one of the short stories.
The program included language classes, history lessons and many cultural experiences supporting a better understanding of the Korean culture.

1-year program studying translation from Korean to German with intensive Korean culture and Korean classes. During this program two Korean short stories were translated into German and a publication (short story) was prepared.

The major applied geography teaches basics of academic research and fundamental issues in urban planning. I specialized in spatial planning and development. There I learned how to create master plans for urban areas, how modern transport planning works and what tools can be used. I had cartography and political science as minors.
I wrote my undergraduate thesis about the reconnection of road and rail infrastructure in reunited Germany and the future lessons for Korea (Title: “Reunification Through Transport. Lessons from the German Unity Transport Projects for the Korean Peninsula”).
